Radium Launches TOD Project at Taichung MRT Green Line “Wenxin Chongde Station”

Connecting Three Stations to Form a Golden Corridor of MRT-Driven Economy

Radium (2547.TW) has announced the launch of the “Taichung Metropolitan MRT Wuri Wenxin Beitun Line-Wenxin Chongde Station (G6) Land Development Investment Project.” As a key node in Taichung MRT Green Line's Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) initiative, the project marks a significant step forward in Radium’s strategy for smart cities and sustainable architecture.

Beitun's Potential + TOD Strategy: Home at the Station

This project is jointly invested and developed by Radium and its wholly owned subsidiary, Ji Shun Life Tech Co., Ltd. It aligns with Taichung’s MRT urban planning and development, embracing a vision of a smart and sustainable green city. The site is located at the core station of the Taichung MRT Green Line—Wenxin Chongde Station (G6), a key transportation hub at the intersection of two major roads in Beitun District, Wenxin Road and Chongde Road.

Wenxin Chongde Station is surrounded by well-established living amenities. According to the Taichung City Civil Affairs Bureau, as of May 2025, Beitun District has a population of 315,000, ranking first among Taichung’s 29 administrative districts and accounting for about 11% of the city’s total population of 2.867 million. Data from the Taichung MRT Bureau shows that from January to April 2025, Wenxin Chongde Station recorded over 387,000 passenger trips, making it the third-busiest station on the line.

Radium’s MRT development project at Wenxin Chongde Station integrates metro access, urban living amenities, and employment opportunities, offering advantages for both residential and commercial development. The project site spans approximately 700 ping (about 2,314 square meters), with a building coverage ratio of 70% and an effective floor area ratio (FAR) of around 800%. The architectural design incorporates BIM digital construction management and low-embodied carbon building certification, blending residential spaces with greenery to realize the vision of “home at the station” and a shaded, livable city. The plan includes a 27-story smart green building, expected to be completed in the second half of 2028.

From Wenxin Chongde Station, Three Stations Linked to Build a Rail-Based Economic Value Chain

Radium is aligning with Taichung City’s TOD policy by simultaneously investing in joint development projects at Wenxin Yinghua Station (G8a) and Nantun Station (G11). The Wenxin Yinghua Station site spans approximately 500 ping (about 1,653 square meters) and is near Shuinan Smart City, Fengjia Night Market, and the municipal commercial district. The Nantun Station site covers about 771 ping (approximately 2,545 square meters), located at the convergence of Wenxin Forest Park and National Highway No. 1. The linkage of these three stations will create complementary location advantages and form a rail-based economic cluster in Taichung.

Taichung City’s planned expansions, including the Airport MRT (Orange Line), the Blue Line extension to Taiping, and the Circular Line in the Tun District, are expected to interconnect with the Green Line, further advancing the development of a rail-based economy and urban renewal. Radium will continue to support government policies on sustainable development by leveraging population growth and construction technologies to set a new benchmark for smart green buildings along MRT corridors, fulfilling the shared vision of an inclusive and sustainable city.
