Radium (2547TW) Group: The Inauguration of the “National Palace Museum Administrative Building and Library Project” and Groundbreaking of Social House “Dan Jin Housing Project” Mark New Milestones
The Administrative Building and Library of the National Palace Museum: A Step Toward a World-Class Modern Museum
At the end of December 2024, the National Palace Museum held the inauguration ceremony for the newly completed "Administrative Building and Library Project," marking a significant milestone in the "New Palace Museum Plan." The ceremony was led by Premier of Executive Yuan Cho, Jung Tai, Museum Director Hsiao, Tsung Huang, and Deputy Director Huang, Yung Tai, with Radium Group Chairman Lin, Rong Shian and Subsidiary Titan Development Chairman Tseng, Ching Tsung joining the ribbon-cutting to commemorate this historic moment.
Enhancing Administrative and Research Functions
In his speech, Premier Cho encouraged the museum to become a "living museum for everyone" and expressed hope that the museum's artifacts would be exhibited in more countries. Director Hsiao stated that the New Palace Museum Plan aims to address the aging infrastructure of the northern campus. With a government-approved budget of NT$10.747 billion, the plan aspires to transform the museum into a world-class cultural and tourist landmark.
This construction project was awarded to Titan Development, a subsidiary of Radium (2547 TW), in 2022, with a contract value of approximately NT$490 million. The facilities include a three-story administrative building (6,007 m²) and a two-story library (1,249 m²), with a total floor area of approximately 7,256 m² (2,195 pings). The new facilities are designed to improve operational efficiency and provide modern spaces for academic research.
A Century-Long Vision: Digitization, Globalization, Green and Smart Building Integration
The new facilities exemplify sustainability and innovative technology, aiming for green building and smart building certifications to set a benchmark for international museum construction. The basic design was completed in 2021, construction began in November 2022, and the project was completed in Q4 2024 as scheduled.
The museum continues to integrate digital exhibition technologies, including AR, VR, and interactive projection, to create diverse cultural experiences. At the same time, it expands the international exhibition of artifacts, strengthening Taiwan’s position in cultural diplomacy. This milestone lays a foundation for the museum’s centennial celebrations in 2025.
Groundbreaking of "Dan Jin Housing Project" in Tamsui, New Taipei: Enhancing Livability
Simultaneously, Radium Group also commenced construction on the social house “Dan Jin Housing Project" in December 2024. The project is located in Tamsui’s New Town near the Tamsui Light Rail Administrative Center Station, with a total investment of approximately NT$3.339 billion. The project will provide 620 residential units, 5% of which are designed for accessibility, and is scheduled for completion in 2029.
All-Age-Friendly Design and Sustainable Architecture
The "Dan Jin Housing Project" incorporates elements of Tamsui's iconic sunsets and includes a 14-story above-ground structure with three underground levels. Amenities include a kindergarten, daycare center, and commercial spaces. The project will secure green building, smart building and seismic design for structure accreditation building certifications to ensure safety and comfort for residents.
Promoting Regional Development and Housing Equity
National Housing and Urban Regeneration Center Chairman Hua, Ching Chun remarked that the project aims to meet the growing rental demand in Tamsui and enhance regional services. Secretary-General of Executive Yuan Kung, Ming Hsin noted the government's commitment to nationwide social housing construction, advancing housing equity for broader societal benefits.
Dual Projects Launch Simultaneously: Advancing Taiwan's Culture and Livelihood
Radium stated that its subsidiary Tatan Development is honored to participate in these two major public projects. These efforts not only reflect Radium’s commitment to sustainability and innovation but also contribute to Taiwan’s progress toward globalization and a livable future.
