Radium (2547.TW)
Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for Wenxin-Chongde Station MRT Joint Development Project in Taichung
A Major Milestone in Radium’s Expansion into Central and Southern Taiwan
Publicly listed Radium (2547.TW) has officially commenced construction of the "Taichung MRT Green Line Wenxin-Chongde G6 Station Joint Development Building" in July, marking a new phase for TOD economic development in Taichung’s Beitun District. The project is a collaboration between the Taichung City Government and Chunghwa Post, jointly invested by Radium and its subsidiary Ji Shun Life Tech. The development will include a 27-story above-ground and 5-story underground smart green building, with a total floor area exceeding 30,000 square meters (approx. 9,000 pings), integrating postal, commercial, and residential functions. Completion is scheduled for the second half of 2028.
First Step in Deepening Roots in Taichung – Realizing Corporate Vision through Smart and Sustainable Architecture
Wenxin-Chongde Station project marks the Company's first major endeavor in Taichung and a critical milestone in its steady expansion from northern to central and southern Taiwan. As one of the core TOD (Transit-Oriented Development) initiatives along the Taichung MRT Green Line, the project combines transportation, lifestyle, and urban design to maximize land use along the MRT corridor and promote balanced urban development. It also lays a strong foundation for future joint development projects at Wenxin-Yinhua Station (G8a) and Nantun Station (G11), and is expected to form a TOD development axis linking the Shuinan Smart City, Taichung’s central business district, and major transportation hubs.
The building is designed to meet green building, low-embodied carbon, smart building, and earthquake resistance certification standards. It aspires to become a new landmark in Taichung, embodying Radium’s commitment to environmental sustainability and social responsibility.
Strategic Expansion in Central and Southern Taiwan – Growing Alongside the City
Taichung is currently advancing plans for metro lines, including the Green, Blue, Red, Orange, and Purple lines, aiming to establish one of the most comprehensive rail transit networks in Taiwan. Among these, Beitun District has been identified as a key “three-line intersection” area—where the Green, Red, and Orange lines will converge, making it one of the most promising zones in the eyes of the market. Situated in the prime area of Beitun, Wenxin-Chungde Station is set to become a major transfer hub for the Green and Red lines. The anticipated benefits of rail-oriented development and population inflow are expected to spill over into surrounding neighborhoods such as the 14th Redevelopment Zone, the Depot Special District, and Buzih, driving residential demand.
Wenxin-Chongde Station is located at the intersection of Section 4, Wenxin Road and Section 2, Chongde Road in Beitun District, near the transportation hub bordering Tanzi and Fengyuan. It ranks third in ridership along the Taichung MRT line. From January to May 2025 alone, the station recorded over 486,000 passenger trips. It is expected to intersect with the upcoming MRT Red Line, connecting key urban areas such as Yizhong Shopping District, Intercontinental Shopping Center, and the Tanzi-Taiping Greenway, thereby enhancing the region’s economic and demographic appeal.
In alignment with national and Taichung municipal development policies, Radium is launching from Wenxin-Chongde and will continue with joint development projects at Wenxin Yinhua and Nantun stations. The company also plans to support major upcoming Taichung projects such as the Airport MRT Orange Line, the Blue Line extension to Taiping, and the Tuen District Circular Line. Through these initiatives, the TOD rail-based economy will move from vision to reality, building a smart, livable city that balances local needs and public interests.
