Radium and Rih Ding Water Partner with GaoHui Construction to Support Post-Flood Dredging in Hualien’s Guangfu Township
Leveraging Professional Expertise to Fulfill Corporate Social Responsibility
Radium (2547 TW) subsidiary Rih Ding Water has taken swift action to support flood relief efforts in Guangfu Township, Hualien, following severe flooding and blocked roadside drains. Leveraging its expertise in water resource engineering, Rih Ding Water has deployed specialized equipment, personnel, and technical teams, collaborating with sewer system contractor GaoHui Construction to carry out dredging and drain-clearing operations. The company will continue to coordinate with government agencies to accelerate disaster response.
With over a decade of experience operating Taoyuan’s public sewer reclamation system, Rih Ding Water has activated its internal technical team to assess local disaster needs and coordinate equipment deployment. Key bottlenecks, such as blocked roadside drains and storm water sewer inlets, are being prioritized for clearing based on professional assessments. By combining its expertise with GaoHui Construction’s equipment support, Rih Ding Water ensures efficient operations that meet both safety and regulatory standards. Several specialized drain-cleaning vehicles are already in operation in Guangfu Township, and further deployments will be coordinated with the Ministry of the Interior’s Sewer Engineering Department and the Taoyuan City Government.
On-site operations follow a structured “cover removal – suction – washing – sediment removal” process, targeting blocked roadside drains, storm water sewer inlets, and drainage channels near affected households. As the company building the largest public sewerage system in Taiwan, Rih Ding Water emphasizes risk management and quality assurance. All personnel undergo safety training, equipment inspections, site surveys, and risk assessments. Environmental protection measures ensure sludge, residual sediment, and wash water are treated in strict compliance with regulations to prevent secondary pollution. Work schedules are carefully managed to minimize disruption in urban and residential areas.
As of October 2, the Hualien County Government has deployed 17 drain-cleaning vehicles from the Environmental Protection Bureau, local governments, and central agencies, clearing nearly five kilometers of blocked drains. Despite progress, roadside drain blockages remain a key challenge. Guided by the principle that “enterprises have a responsibility when communities are in need,” Radium and Rih Ding Water are leveraging their professional expertise to support recovery efforts. The company hopes that its equipment, together with additional government manpower and technical support, will help restore affected areas quickly and efficiently. Coordinated efforts from central, local, and private sectors aim to bring residents back to normal life as soon as possible.
