Compared to the previous year, water withdrawal increased by 5%, intensity increased by 3%.
4. Consolidated Financial Statement Subsidiaries
The Group's consolidated financial statement subsidiaries have been included in water resource inventory since 2023. In 2024, environmental data allocation for headquarters offices and department store counters was gradually implemented in coordination with greenhouse gas inventory. Differences in water resource data compared to the previous year are within reasonable ranges. From two-year data analysis, water consumption hotspots are concentrated in operations businesses (Jing-Jan, Radium Kagaya), mainly due to high foot traffic and large water consumption in restrooms, restaurants, and food courts. Future evaluations will assess replacement of water-saving devices and possibilities of rainwater recovery and greywater recycling to reduce tap water usage and mitigate drought risks.

Note: In response to the regulatory authorities' ESG reporting requirements, water consumption is presented in cubic meters (m³). If converted to million liters, the data on this page should be divided by 1,000 (1 liter = 0.001 m³) .
Waste Management
The Group is involved in a highly diversified business group, that includes construction, recycling (water resources, renewable energy, waste-to-energy), and operating (transfer station, department store, lodging, biotechnology) businesses. Environmental impacts from waste generated by business operations and upstream and downstream value chain activities (raw material and service provision, service product purchasing) also have high variability, requiring broader and more systematic management of impacts and risks.
Honoring the social responsibility for mitigating environmental impact, the Group actively reviews all waste types and impact types that may be generated in the upstream, mid-stream and downstream of the value chain, and establishes appropriate waste management systems, goals, and reduction measures according to the different business activities. Additionally, for more specialized operational models within the Group (construction sites, laboratories, and restaurants), environmental impact management processes are also regulated.
Identification and management of significant waste-related impacts
Waste value chains are categorized into three types based on industry (construction business, circular economy business, operations business), identifying all possible waste generated during operations, from upstream supplier resources and labor, to downstream service product receiving end usage, for more comprehensive management of value chain environmental impacts.

- Operating business (Biotechnology)

Operational Activity Waste Identification Results
Through value chain impact assessment, waste types from the Group's operational activities can be identified, mainly covering general waste, general business waste, and hazardous business waste (as shown in the table below), all handled by qualified vendors. In addition to complying with regulatory requirements and legally reporting waste regularly, waste data mechanisms are maintained with monthly reviews of waste data changes, compiled and reported to management departments for review and improvement, with the goal of reducing waste volume by 1% compared to the previous year. For waste types, generation volumes, and treatment methods, please see Appendix 1 Sustainability Performance Detailed Statistics Table 8.

For general household waste management, RADIUM LIFE promotes waste classification, dividing general household waste into household garbage, paper, iron and aluminum cans, plastic/PET bottles, glass, dry batteries, etc., effectively reducing general household waste generated from classification errors and lowering environmental costs. Additionally, all disposal procedures are commissioned to professional waste disposal companies for collection and processing, which is off-site processing. Future efforts will continue to review waste volumes and implement waste reduction and recycling classification. For construction waste management, "Business Waste Disposal Plans" are formulated before construction begins, and disposal contracts are signed with legal collection vendors. Construction waste, mainly rebars and concrete, is handled by qualified and professional waste disposal companies to minimize the environmental impact caused by construction waste. For detailed explanation, see 4-3-4 Engineering Pollution Prevention and Environmental Impact Mitigation.
For effective management of business waste "organic sludge" (D-0901), Rih Ding Water Enterprise follows ISO 14001 environmental management system, establishes internal waste management procedures, and according to the "Waste Disposal Act" and the composition of facility waste, registers various treatment methods in the "Waste Classification Table," which is announced by the Operations Department to the entire facility, ensuring proper waste management within the facility. Additionally, contracts are signed with legal removal and treatment institutions that have obtained "Taoyuan City Government Waste Treatment Permits" for final external processing, with legal disposal operators using thermal treatment and biological treatment methods, with final disposal by landfill. Rih Ding Water Enterprise has established laboratories for facility water quality monitoring, water treatment technology R&D, and assisting national research cooperation. Waste liquids from laboratories (including non-hazardous waste liquids and hazardous waste liquids C-0119, C-0299, and C-0399) are classified and collected in waste liquid drums according to category, regularly weighed, and commissioned to qualified vendors for regular collection and treatment, with non-hazardous waste liquids treated together with domestic sewage.
- Department Stores and Hospitality
General waste management for operations businesses including Wan Da Tong, Jing-Jan, and Radium Kagaya follows the above RADIUM LIFE explanation. For restaurant waste oil management, Jing-Jan requires restaurant operators to uniformly use EPA-registered qualified vendors contracted by Jing-Jan to handle generated waste oil and food waste. Those unable to comply must provide qualified business certificates from other contracted vendors for reference. Radium Kagaya requires restaurants in the facility to install grease traps and oil-water separation facilities, with separated grease and waste cooking oil collected by qualified vendors, and wastewater discharged into sewage systems. Additionally, kitchens are equipped with oil fume hoods to prevent kitchen oil fumes from harming surrounding air quality and maintain community image. The kitchen waste generated from cooking and dining is entrusted to a registered company for disposal to be used as feed or fertilizer for animal husbandry.
The waste liquid and waste equipment generated by the PRIT Bio production line and experiment, including C-0599 combustible infectious industrial waste mixture and C-0514 infectious waste (contaminated articles or utensils), are classified according to their treatment and classification (Z04 incineration and Z05 Heat Treatment) for collection, labeling, and storage, and hand them over to qualified operators for disposal. Waste liquids from production lines include D-1504 non-hazardous organic waste liquids or waste solvents, collected in storage drums within the facility, and finally uniformly processed by qualified operators. To ensure that waste is properly disposed of in accordance with contracts and regulations, each subsidiary requires business partners to clear and transport waste to designated locations as required by the contract. Operational waste is weighed at incinerator entry and exit, and recyclable materials are weighed by recycling operators, queryable through the business waste reporting and management information system. Additionally, PrIT Bio has legally established "Waste Management Procedures," regulating responsible units and standard operating procedures from waste classification, collection, storage to collection and disposal control. In principle, general waste and general business waste must be classified and collected by category, with names clearly marked at storage locations, containers, and facilities.

Water Resource Management
The Group operates in offices, water resource centers, transfer stations, department stores, hotels, construction sites, and factories in Taipei and New Taipei, Taoyuan, Hsinchu, Miaoli, and Taichung Cities. Water intake comes from Taipei Water Department and Taiwan Water Corporation, with water resource stress classified as "low" (20%-30%), except for The Genesis construction site and engineering office in Sanchih District, New Taipei City, which are classified as "medium" (30%-40%). Rih Ding Water Enterprise in addition to using tap water, meets nearly 99.14% of water demand from recycled and reused effluent after secondary treatment within the facility (used for sewage treatment processes and equipment cleaning), significantly reducing tap water demand (used for domestic water), alleviating local water pressure.
Drainage from Radium Life Group operational locations includes domestic sewage (from offices, transit stations, department stores, hotels, and engineering offices), construction wastewater from sites, effluent from sewage treatment plants, and operational wastewater from cosmetics factories. Domestic sewage is discharged to the local sewage sewer system, and then discharged to Grade C or Grade D onshore water bodies after secondary treatment in the sewage treatment plant. Construction wastewater is collected and treated (sedimentation and desanding) before discharge to approved drainage locations outside work areas, with continuous monitoring of effluent water quality. Treated effluent from Rih Ding Water Enterprise is discharged to Nankan Creek or supplied to third parties, must comply with effluent standards committed in contracts with Taoyuan City Government, with quarterly testing and reporting of effluent information; Bao Ding Reclaimed Water upgrades recycled and reused effluent to renewable resources, supplying Taoyuan industries, alleviating industrial water resource pressure and water shortage risks, improving water resource scheduling flexibility. Prolactix cosmetics production line has generated no effluent since 2017. For information about the Group's water resource recycling business, see 2-4-1 Water Resource Circulation Services; for construction site effluent management, see 4-3-4 Engineering Pollution Prevention and Environmental Impact Mitigation.

Waste Value Chain Diagram

The Group's consolidated financial statement subsidiaries have been included in waste inventory since 2023. In 2024, environmental data allocation for headquarters offices and department store counters was gradually implemented in coordination with greenhouse gas inventory. Differences in waste data compared to the previous year are within reasonable ranges. From two-year data analysis, waste generation hotspots include Jing-Jan and Radium Kagaya, which primarily generate food waste, waste cooking oil, and household garbage. Future goals will focus on using consumables with less packaging, or strengthening food waste reduction promotion and oil residue separation procedures to achieve waste reduction. Bao Ding Reclaimed Water generated temporary large amounts of waste from excess earthwork during construction phase, expected not to be a waste generation hotspot in the future.
