The Entryway to the City
The Capital's Transportation Hub

Situated in the heart of Taipei City, the Taipei Bus Station is a complex transit center that integrates bus passenger transport, Taiwan Railways, High Speed Rail, MRT and Airport Express, and vertically connects different transport modes for interchange services.

The overall plan of the transit station development project is to develop the transit station into a high quality transit station with intelligent facilities, diversified functions and refined services to meet the triple-win objectives of high service standards for users, high profitability for operators, and high transport efficiency and social equity for government supervisors.

The bus route enters the station from the northwest corner of the base (Chengde Road and Huayin Street) and ascends slowly along the internal driveway of the building to the platform level on the second to fourth floors of the bus station, where 48 platforms are provided for boarding and alighting passengers and two spare platforms are provided.

The ground floor of the transit station is a ticketing hall and shopping area, while the first basement is connected to the MRT Street and the second basement is connected to Taipei Underground Street, making it easy for passengers to transfer quickly between the Danshui Line, Xindian Line, Bannan Line, THSR, Taiwan Railways and Airport MRT. In addition, the transit station has a dedicated ramp on the third floor to connect to the elevated expressway, which connects to the Zhongxiao Bridge and the Huanhe Expressway to the National Highway out of Taipei City, reducing the impact of flat traffic on the Civic Boulevard.

The transit station has spent hundreds of millions of dollars to build its own intelligent management system. With an advanced schedule display system, a convenient bus information system and an automated station dispatching system, it is the largest and most complex interchange station in the country, which is complemented by an airport terminal, giving a new energy and a new look to national highway passenger transport.
  • Leading in size

Taipei Bus Station operates 24 hours a day, with nine national highway operators and 52 routes, covering all major cities in Taiwan.
  • First to use RFID technology to integrate applications

With a dedicated intelligent management system costing hundreds of millions of Taiwan dollars, it uses advanced RFID technology to perform fleet monitoring, provide real-time schedule display, abnormal event detection, platform door control, and is comparable to an airport terminal.
The station is the largest and most efficient bus station in the country, bringing new energy and distinction to bus transport.
  • Outstanding location

Located in the heart of Taipei's city center, the station is a hub for bus transport, Taiwan Railways, High Speed Rail, MRT and Airport Express. The first basement level connects the MRT, THSR and MRT, improving interchange convenience and reducing travel time.
  • Four-storey grand station The world's first four-storey, three-dimensional passenger terminal, with buses entering from the northwest corner of the base (Chengde Road and Huayin Street) and rising slowly along the building's internal driveway to the bus station's second to fourth floor platform levels, significantly enhancing space utilization.
  • Outstanding facilities The floor area of the terminal building is approximately 8,000 pings (26446.28 m2). There are 30 ticket windows and a merchandise service area on the ground floor. The second to fourth floors are equipped with 48 platforms and 2 spare parking spaces for loading and unloading passengers. To meet the special needs of the transit station, a customized 21.5 tonne short wheelbase tractor is on standby 24 hours a day at the station.
  • Dedicated ramps The bus station is designed as a one-in, two-out station, with a ramp on the third floor to connect with the elevated road on Civic Boulevard. The station's ramps are connected to the Civic Boulevard elevated road, making it a perfect place for traffic to leave the station. After leaving the station, vehicles can continue to Zhongxiao Bridge and the Huanhe Expressway to National Highway No. 1 and leave Taipei City, reducing the impact of traffic on the Civic Boulevard.
  • Unique capacity and flow The daily traffic volume reaches 2,300 to 3,500 vehicles. The maximum number of vehicles entering the station per hour is 286. The daily passenger flow is 40,000 to 60,000.
